BYD 4680 Lifepop4 Battery

BYD4680 is a 4680 cylindrical battery developed by BYD Company. This battery is similar in specifications to Tesla's 4680 battery, but there are some differences in technology and performance.
BYD's 4680 battery is a lithium iron phosphate battery with a single energy density of 129Wh/kg, a nominal capacity of 15Ah, and a nominal voltage of 3.2V. This kind of battery can achieve 0.5C charging and 0.2C discharge. The operating temperature range of charging and discharging is 0℃-55℃ and -20℃-60℃ respectively. Because the battery pack composed of cylindrical cells can achieve better thermal management, it can achieve higher power charging and discharging.
Compared with Tesla's 4680 battery, BYD's 4680 battery has a slightly lower energy density. Tesla's 4680 battery is a high-nickel ternary lithium battery with a single energy density of 244Wh/kg and a nominal capacity of 20Ah. However, BYD's 4680 battery has advantages in cost, safety and lifespan, which are also the characteristics of lithium iron phosphate batteries.
